It is obtained from the fruit of the sunflower plant and is beneficial for health. These cores are generally produced in the Central Anatolia Region.

By roasting sunflower seeds, its flavor is further enhanced. More than one technique is used for roasting. Which type to choose depends on the taste and condition of the nut. Roasteting machine is widely preferred. For this, seeds are placed in the chamber of the machine. Then the machine will work without any break and roast the sunflower seeds. Each roasted seed is poured into the tray at the front of the machine. This method is especially recommended for those who will obtain large amounts of roasted sunflower seeds.

In the oven roasting method, approximately one kilogram of sunflower seeds can be roasted at a time. The roasting process takes approximately twenty minutes. For this, a spoonful of flour is sprinkled over the seeds. Then a glass of brine is prepared and poured over the beans. It is ensured that all beans are contaminated with this mixture. The cooking process takes place at 170 - 180 degrees oven. With this application, salty sunflower seeds will be obtained. The process of roasting in the microwave oven is similar, the only difference being that the amount is less.

For pan roasted sunflower seeds, the seeds are mixed continuously over medium heat. If salted sunflower seeds are to be made, a mixture of flour and salt water should be used. It is necessary not to leave the top of the pan to prevent the beans from burning.

Nutrition Facts of Sunflower Seeds

Roasted salted sunflower seeds have high nutritional value. It contains carbohydrate, fiber, iron, calcium, protein, potassium, fat, A and C vitamins. There is 645 mg of potassium in 100 grams of sunflower seeds. Potassium is 20.8 g and calcium is 78 mg. Experts recommend that women consume about 25 grams of sunflower seeds per day and men about 38 grams per day.
